Memory of a Person
When a person passes away, everyone charges for everything, everywhere, and with great enthusiasm. In short, dying is expensive. Then comes the monument, the curb, the fencing — you know how it goes. After all, it’s a memory of a person! Yet, the monument will likely be generic, much like a typical apartment block in Murino or Kudrovo (suburbs of St. Petersburg). Just a slab of finishing stone with letters, dates, and a small engraving.
And that’s it.
Only those who physically travel to that patch of land on Earth will see it. They’ll stand there for five minutes, sigh sadly, cross themselves, and leave to attend to their daily lives. Perhaps they’ll snap a photo with their phone. That’s where the “meeting” with loved ones ends.
